“Health is more than just the lack of illness – health is aliveness, energy and joy….Health is not just for the body. Health includes the mind, the emotions, the whole person.” Life 101,Peter McWilliams
Dr. Teresa Fuller, M.D., Ph.D., is a double board-certified physician in pediatrics and integrative holistic medicine, and holds a Ph.D. in physiology. She received both her M.D. and Ph.D. at Howard University in 1999 and has been a practicing pediatrician in the Maryland area for more than 15 years. This powerful combination of the pediatric, holistic, and physiology disciplines places Dr. Fuller in a unique position to positively impact your health.
Why holistic medicine? Holistic medicine is an approach to medicine that involves getting to the root causes of illness and supplying the body with what it needs to heal and restore normal function. This is based on the understanding that the body is fully equipped to self-heal when given the proper support. This is much superior to simply covering up the symptoms with medications, and it’s a much more rewarding way to practice medicine.
This website is a resource for parents to raise children who thrive. And there’s a lot of information on adult health because parents, we need you to be healthy too!
Dr. Fuller shares her unique and practical step-by-step approach to disease prevention and permanent weight loss in her first book, Change 1 Thing: A Doctor’s 12 Step Guide to Permanent Weight Loss, Disease Prevention and a Lifetime of Incredible Health. Dr. Fuller’s book is designed for health-conscious individuals and people wanting to break free from chronic health problems and frustrating weight loss techniques that only work for the short-term. Since it takes 21 days to adopt a new habit, readers can devote one month establishing one of the 12 steps before tackling the next. After a year, when all 12 steps are completed, multiple health benefits are achieved. These include weight loss, lowered risk of having common chronic diseases, and improvements in energy, vitality, and mental clarity.
